Madison, AL is located primarily in Madison county Alabama. Madison extends west into neighboring Limestone County. The city is included in the Huntsville Metropolitan Area and is also included in the merged Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area. As of the 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city was 36,824. Madison is one of the fastest growing cities in the Southeastern United States, with one of the highest per capita incomes.

Madison’s largest employer is Intergraph, a computer software company based in Madison. Thousands of Madison, AL residents commute to Cummings Research Park and Redstone Arsenal in nearby Huntsville. Within the city limits, most of Madison’s businesses are retail, with stores and fast-food restaurants lining US 72 to the north of Madison Boulevard.

Madison is know for it’s family friendliness, rolling hills, mature trees, recreational activities, quaint downtown,  well established neighborhoods and parks.
