The Ledges of Huntsville Mountain

The Ledges of Huntsville Mountain, in Huntsville, AL, is a private, gated golf community within Huntsville city limits. The community is built at the highest point in Huntsville, literally sitting at the top of Huntsville Mountain. The community was planned with 250 acres set aside for the 18-hole championship golf course and 150 acres for its generously sized home sites. Another 450 acres are kept as a belt of preserved green space around the community, to ensure that the area’s natural beauty remains unspoiled. The community is situated 1,000 feet up from the floor of the Tennessee Valley, so the views are spectacular. From one side, you see Hampton Cove’s Robert Trent Jones designed golf course, and, from the other, you look down at the Medical District, Jones Valley and downtown Huntsville.

The community was designed by the same company that created Celebration, the Disney-owned planned community on the Florida coast. The homes adhere to a historically correct, traditional architectural style template, with columns, porticoes, wide front porches and plenty of old-fashioned charm. Sidewalks and rear access garages give the neighborhoods a pedestrian-friendly, small-town feel. Each home is different; some evoke the old South or colonial New England, and others the New Orleans French Quarter and quaint Victorians. The community offers secluded, rural living, with tree-lined streets and expansive views.
