What can YOU do for your community?

The holiday season is over but that doesn’t mean the season of GIVING must come to an end.  Giving back to our community is a treasured gift that is accepted all year long. Maybe this is something you have put off in the past. You don’t have the money this month, and you don’t have the time this weekend, and you couldn’t make that big of a difference on your own, right? Not so fast.

Making a positive impact in our community through nonprofit organizations, volunteer groups, charity or other means does so much to help those in need and contribute to the common good. You can give back in different ways, by giving money or giving your time. No matter how you do it, giving back to your community will touch many people’s lives. Even the teeniest good deed can ignite change and positively impact the community by providing a renewed sense of hope.

    Consider these 3 easy options:

    1.   Donate clothing to Manna House or Salvation Army, Goodwill are always accepting donations

    2.   Donate books to the Huntsville/Madison County Library

    3.   Donate canned goods to your local food bank or The CARE Center
