The process of searching for a new home involves many different decisions. One major decision is the one between buying a new construction or a resale property.

2017 is proving to be the most profitable time to sell a home in nearly a decade. That being said, we are absolutely in a hot seller’s market.
Statistics from Adam Data Solutions show that homeowners selling in the first three months of this year saw an average price gain of $44,000 from purchase—the highest gain since 2007.
As more and more buyers begin the process of their home search, more and more sellers have been wondering what it is that people are truly looking for in a property.
The good news is that North Alabama communities are constantly evolving to meet the wants and needs of buyers. Between flourishing new build developments and hot new neighborhoods with a lot of charm and character, there are plenty of opportunities on the market today.
So, what are the benefits of buying a resale home versus a new construction home?
A resale home does come with a unique set of perks, including established trees, settled neighbors, and an established neighborhood. There are also many advantages in terms of convenience. Resale homes come free of construction noise, building surprises, and wait times. All of these factors will make for a peaceful transition.
A resale home could also be a secure financial decision for the future, since many first-time homebuyers are often interested in building equity and raising their credit.
This is not to say, however, that there are not benefits to new construction homes. The advantages of a new construction homes do, however, appeal to buyers in a unique way. New constructions mean new appliances, new roof, new finishes, and more. They also come free of any damage from previous owners and can be customized to your exact specifications.
