We all know that the housing market continues to expand and outpace the market need due to employment opportunities here in Huntsville; but with employment and housing growth also comes economic growth. So what areas in Huntsville are looking to expand and stay ahead of the curve?
Where Are New Developments Happening?
Downtown Huntsville Development
The former Coca-Cola bottling site has plans to redevelop it’s 13 acres for a new urban development center. With an estimated project plan of $325 million this project will be led by New York City-based Development Partners LLC in the heart of Downtown. This project will be home to new retail & office spaces, a hotel, housing, and a multi level parking garage to support the growth. Work has already begun in the Downtown area with an estimated completion date of September 2025.
MidCity District Amphitheater
On the other side of town, work is already halfway done for Huntsville’s new amphitheater in MidCity District. Once complete, this state of the art venue will be for more than just concerts. It will host community events for graduations, nonprofits and more. With it being one year away from opening, their team is keeping what top artists will be performing under wraps.
“The Range” and “The Foundry”
What will be right next to the iconic Stoverhouse and Campus 805, new groundbreaking of “The Range” and “The Foundry” will host room for new office spaces, retail, and restaurants. With the site work already underway, these two new developments will be expected to be open as soon as the summer of 2022.
Joe Davis Stadium
What has not been used in over 6 years, the City of Huntsville finally has taken action to revamp the Joe Davis Stadium. What previously was used for baseball games will not be converted to host multiple events such as soccer, football. lacrosse, field hockey, and ultimate frisbee. The renovation will cover the entire stadium from new lighting and audio, updated seating, infrastructure for media broadcasts, new concession stands, and a state of the art scoreboard. We can expect to attend events there starting in the fall of 2022.
