Our Team’s Favorite Outdoor Activities

We asked everyone here in the Amanda Howard Sotheby’s International Realty office to tell us their favorite things to do outdoors, especially as the weather here in Huntsville starts to warm up!

Yoga

Start your day with yoga to stretch and unwind. Whether you find a routine to do by yourself or go to a studio near you this is a great way to stay active while releasing stress. Glinda, one of our listing partners, loves to get outdoors for this activity and prefers Monte Sano Mountain to relax while enjoying the beautiful view. If you  are looking for a studio to join, consider Hot Yoga of HuntsvilleLight on Yoga Fitness LLC,  or one of the other many locations located right here in Huntsville! For the best of both worlds, head over to The Camp at MidCity where every Saturday they host a free bring your own mat yoga class at 9:30am out in their courtyard.

Kayaking

With the Flint River and Ditto Landing right here in Northern Alabama, any activities on the water are a great way to cool down in the spring and summer! Whether it is boating, tubing, kayaking, or canoeing Huntsville has it all. Kayaking is one of Talon’s, one of our realtors, favorite ways to get outside. Don’t have a kayak or canoe? Check out Brown Bear LLC or Paint Rock Canoe to rent a canoe or kayak to float down the river.

Backpacking

Escape the city by finding a trail in the mountains. One of our Buyer’s Specialists, Kiki, loves any type of hiking or backpacking but likes to find secluded areas to enjoy all that nature has to offer. Monte Sano Mountain or Blevins Gap Nature Preserve are two of the favorites among the locals and provide some of the best views of Huntsville.

Patio Hopping

With Huntsville having beautiful weather year around, many restaurants have great patio spots to enjoy. Plus, Downtown Huntsville has a great option to get your drinks to go in a purple cup so you can walk around Big Spring Park.. Natsuki, a Buyer’s Specialist, loves to take her dogs Downtown or to the local breweries to enjoy the warmer weather and of course – the drinks!

Outdoor Concerts

What better way to spend time outside than going to an outdoor concert or listening to live music? Here in Huntsville, there are so many options for music without traveling to Nashville or Birmingham. The Camp at MidCity, Lowe’s Mills Art Center, Stovehouse or any of the local bars or breweries you will always have options during the week. Our realtor, Stephanie will always find concerts to attend and enjoys listening to all the live music.
