Are you brave enough to go “Over the Edge” for north Alabama children? This fundraising event like no other is back, and Amanda Howard is joining a team for the third consecutive year to rappel 189 feet down the Regions Center in downtown Huntsville. “Over the Edge” combines a unique, thrill-seeking experience while raising funds for the Kids to Love mission.
What is Kids to Love?
Kids to Love has impacted 250,000 foster children since 2004 through its various initiatives and programs. Their mission to find “forever families” for the 6,000 children waiting for adoption in north Alabama.
Additionally, Kids to Love supports foster children’s success with four educational programs and career opportunities. Some of the work they do includes:
- Supplying over 5,000 Alabama and Tennessee kids with a backpack filled with school supplies each year
- College scholarships to graduating seniors
- Adoptive and foster parent training
- Lifelab classes teaching young independent skills
- KTECH workforce training initiative offering Advanced Mechanics and Robotics, one of two SIEMENS-certified facilities in Alabama
- Davidson Farms, a supportive home for girls 10-19
Children entering foster care face separation from family, their siblings, and uncertainty about their future. Founded by a former foster child, Kids to Love supports these children.
