It’s Christmas Time in the City!

During the month of December I enjoy spending time with my family and friends embracing the holiday spirit. These special moments allow me to recharge and reflect on those around me.

From relaxing next to the fireplace at home to walking through the Tinsel Trail in Downtown Huntsville, I love creating memories and showing appreciation to those close to me during the holiday season.

I’ve put together some of my favorite experiences during the holidays here in Huntsville that you can do with those you cherish. Even if you aren’t here in the Tennessee Valley, take the time to explore your city and create memories that will last a lifetime.

Multiple Opportunities Through December

Tinsel Trail

With 350 trees, head to Big Spring Park to have a night under the lights in our bright downtown! These trees will be up until January 2nd, so grab a warm jacket and see the beautiful Tinsel Trail! While you are enjoying the trees make sure to stop by one of their food trucks around the area! Each weekend they will have a different line up so check out the Tinsel Trail website to stay up to date on your favorites! Also, make sure to keep your eye out for the Amanda Howard Sotheby’s International Tree!

Nights of Santa

During Nights of Santa, December 13th – 23rd starting at 5:00pm, the jolly old elf himself will be on hand each night to listen to children as they share their wish lists. No visit to Santa would be complete without meeting his North Pole elves. Additional family-friendly activities adding to the whimsical fun include nightly snowfalls, making holiday crafts, holiday themed experiment in the all-new Tinker Lab, mingling with costumed characters like the Grinch and Olaf, decorating a fresh made gingerbread cookie, mailing your letters to Santa and shopping in Santa’s gift shop.

Galaxy of Lights

Enjoy the Botanical Gardens when it’s decked out for the holiday season.
