The Quality of Huntsville Schools
The quality of the Huntsville City Schools has been recognized nationally time and time again. In 2007, Virgil I. Grissom High School was named a National Blue Ribbon School by the US Department of Education, in 2010 the system received a Department of Defense grant to continue improving math education, and the system regularly produce multiple National Merit Scholarship winners. The staffs of the Huntsville City Schools are exceptionally qualified and dedicated. Continuing education opportunities and a supportive administration ensure that the latest teaching techniques are found in the Huntsville City Schools classrooms. Continuing evidence of this community dedication to excellence is that Huntsville City Schools receive the 11th highest local funding per student in Alabama.
