The city is a part of the Huntsville Metro area and is home to about 43,000 people. It’s location in Madison County makes it an ideal place to call home for those who work in areas of Huntsville or in Limestone County. A smaller community, Madison offers a more relaxed lifestyle and plenty of amenities. This could be why the area is seeing more interest from home buyers.

When considering the city of Madison, realize the area is much like the surrounding Huntsville area. While home prices have climbed out of the hole in the 2008 through 2010 timeframe, they are still quite affordable. And, this area has entered a buyer’s market as well. There are, as of the end of December of 2015, about 400 homes on the market in this area. Compared to the same time in 2015, this is a drop of about six percent. The median list price for homes has improved. In December, it was $229,900 but in 2014 at the same time, it was $226,900.

Cape cod style homes and more contemporary and modern homes are also available. While single family are popular, there are also numerous condo developments in demand as well. Some new development is occurring in Madison also.

Madison real estate is prime for investment in many ways. Homes here are significantly more affordable than some neighborhoods in Huntsville, but the area is only a matter of minutes from the downtown Huntsville region. More so, Madison is full of parks, quality schools, and numerous festivals throughout the year.
