Making a Local Impact…
400th Home Sale Local Charity Program
Amanda Howard Sotheby’s International Realty donated $6,000 across five local charities as part of our First Annual “400th Home Sale Charity Program”. Recipients include Greater Huntsville Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity of North Alabama, Harris Home for Children, HEALS, and Kids to Love. This program was designed to allow our local community to vote via Facebook polling for their top 5 local charity organizations here in Huntsville/Madison County, AL. Each of the five charities received a check during our Client Appreciation Event as our way of giving back to the community which has been so gracious to support us.
Local Schools and Sports
In addition to the charity program, we donated over $10,000 within the last year to various local schools, student sports teams, and children’s organizations including, but not limited to the following:

Kids to Love Foundation
We support Kids to Love Foundation – a local 501(3)(c) non-profit organization founded by Lee Marshall committed to helping find forever homes for foster children while providing education and career readiness training. We’ve attended and hosted events to help raise funds for both Kids to Love and their sister organization, Davidson Farms.
Davidson Farms is a privately funded 10,000 sq. ft. home nestled on 10 acres in Madison County. Davidson Farms opens the door for teen and tween girls to come home to a loving family with support & guidance while in the foster system. Davidson Farms provides food, clothing, and a loving home to help meet their physical and spiritual needs.
HEALS, Inc
Amanda competed in ‘Stars Dancing for HEALS’ annual fundraising competition where she practice and learned a ballroom dancing routine to perform in front of hundreds of local spectators. While practicing for the big event, she held several fundraisers including Boston butt sales and wine tastings to raise money that went toward her final “votes” for the evening with a goal of $10,000 ($1 = 1 vote)!. The money went toward building and stocking supplies in additional clinics in local schools. HEALS, Inc (Health Establishments in Local Schools) is a local 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Huntsville, Alabama dedicated to providing accessible quality, school-based primary health care for children through collaborative efforts with the Huntsville City/Madison County school systems and the medical community. By providing on-site medical, dental, optometry care, and social services at our participating schools, HEALS, Inc. makes an immediate difference in the lives of many children.
Habitat for Humanity of Madison County
Provided build crew and monetary support for Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, a Christian housing ministry that serves families by working to eliminate poverty housing from our community. We’ve helped with multiple houses for families working hard to earn their place called home.
March of Dimes
We were asked to lead the March of Dimes’ “March for Babies” fundraising committee. The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The funds raised during the March for Babies event helps fund research for March of Dimes.
Free 2 Teach
Supported Free 2 Teach by collecting school supplies and giving monetary donations – Free 2 Teach provides free resources to teachers in Madison County’s three public school systems. These resources are available to more than 3,800 full-time classroom teachers and their 53,000 students, improving the educational experience of our children and strengthening our community’s future workforce.
University of Alabama
Taught at The University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Commerce Real Estate Program students on identifying and maximizing their strengths through the DISC profile
Toys for Tots
Collected Toys for Tots – The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
Huntsville St. Patrick’s Day Parade
We are an annual sponsor of the Huntsville St. Patrick’s Day Parade, a family-friendly celebration in Downtown Huntsville benefiting the Irish Society of North Alabama. This is just a really fun event our Team looks forward to every year. It makes us realize how “lucky” we are to get to be a part of Huntsville and meet so many kids and neighbors in the community. It’s a great time!
